Circlepics Photography is one person: Raoul Baart, a photographer working out of Papendrecht in the Netherlands.
I photograph people, dogs and places, and I take the time each of them needs.
Most shoots start with a conversation rather than a camera. What is the picture for, who is going to see it and what should it say? Once that is clear, the shoot itself becomes a lot simpler.
Portraits are built around light, usually a single source shaped until the face reads the way it should. Dog sessions run on patience: I work at the dog's own height until it stops noticing me. Landscape and architecture come down to standing in the right place at the moment the light is worth photographing.
I shoot in the studio and on location, in and around Papendrecht and further afield when a project calls for it.
